A Conversation for 'The Execution of Lady Jane Grey' by Paul Delaroche
Beautiful painting

This is a beautiful painting and your writing has captured the mood wonderfully. I often go to the national just to look at it, it is so wonderfully painted and it is great to have some history to both the life of Jane Grey and the painting itself. I recently found out it is both my fathers and his cousins favourite also. It is compelling and haunting, and the fact that it is historically incorrect takes nothing away from it. I can't help but just sit and imagine what it must of been like for her - a bit maudlin I know, but it's more trying to capture the mood!
Thank you!!
