This is now a mix between a FM rescue (A2052596) and an update of an existing entry (A476660).
It doesn't go into a lot of detail about what the crab is, or where it lives etc, because it's more about eating the thing than observing it in its natural habitat.
Previously tried it just as an FM rescue, but think it works better this way. Previous threads F8546055"?thread=346543 & F8546055

I changed 'molting' to 'moulting', but if that's wrong can someone let me know and I'll change it back. Where a few American spellings in the original entry.

I got as far as "gray and feathery" and just couldn't continue, sorry, just had my tea
It should be "grey"

Stupid spell check fixed that now.
Sorry about your tea, I've read this so many times I've gone a bit numb now.

It's alright, it's not the words, it's the smell and sounds it's invoking!
I did wonder whether the update should be called 'Blue Crab' with 'Preparing a Blue Crab to Eat' as a Header, as you've combined the two articles now?

I did originally call it 'The Blue Crab' with its latin name, but changed it because I think people will expect to see more detail about the crab than there is in this entry. Something like this A1106452, rather than just about eating it.
Can change it back again easily if necessary.

Can I assume this is ready if there are no other comments?

I reckon so, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Please could someone else comment, even if just to post something to say 'no problems'.
As this is an update it doesn't go through a sub and I'd really like more than one person commenting before this is pasted over the top of an existing entry!

Thank you, I grew up listening to the sound of a crab's claws being shattered with a hammer, and the distinctive smell in my nostrils, and we wouldn't kiss him goodnight after crab evening

My dad taught me to pull winkles out of their shells with a pin. I'm sure I only ate them because it was something just for me and my dad - no-one else would eat them!
I never eat them now.

I was the same with cockles! I can't remember when I last saw them on sale, but I remember their rubbery texture, and the odd bit of grit
Key: Complain about this post
