Loving the article, it's got everything in there.
I've been taking my daughter to panto for the past five years. Last year though we went to one where it was played a lot straighter than usual. There was still some audience participation but there wasn't as much silliness or jokes involved.
I was led to believe that this is something other panto's have begun to do. Anyone else?

And certainly not in Hong Kong, where I was Cinderella's fairy godmother (whatever the panto) from 2002 to 2007
