I live in a small place in North Lincolnshire. Three more local(one in walking distance) pubs closed last week, including the one that served the best food in Lincolnshire.
This village had 23 pubs a hundred years ago, 5 thirty years ago and now has one.
I'm not saying the smoking ban closed them all, but it was the last nail in the coffin for many of them

Man thats just tragic. I live in Florida and we've had a smoking ban for some time now and its had an effect on the way business' operate. Can't say whether any have shuttered because of it but their business did suffer. Here they allow free standing bars that don't serve food to allow smoking.
