h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A short and sweet little article that manages to pretty much sum up my belief system. Positive Atheism. I like it.

I also fall into this category for the most part.

While I do believe this world would be better without religion and the ills that come with it, I'm a realist and I understand that no amount of argument will change the religious beliefs of the devout. Rather, the negative reaction many people have to those who proselytize their atheism encourages intolerance of atheism.

However, "positive" atheism can be much more beneficial to all. I personally emphasize to people that, as an atheist, I defend religious freedoms for all.

Setting a good example is the best argument.

Agreed. I think there a plenty of intolerant, ignorant, unkind people out there who claim to be religious. You don't have to subscribe to a religion to be a good person.
