The wreck of the Mary Celeste was discovered in 2001 by none other than the author Clive Cussler and his NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency)team. It is currently situated on Rochelais reef off the coast of Haitiafter beind deliberatly sunk by her captain as part of an insurance fraud.

Another point I learnt recently is that the Mary Celeste is probably named after Maria Celeste who was the famous astronomer Galileo Galilei's daughter.
