It requires no irrational belief in anything to know and celebrate the simple fact that the days are no longer getting any shorter, and in fact have begun getting longer again. Hurrah.

What a lovely explication of Christmas.
I always think that it is is such a generally happy time, and it is so nice that so many people celebrate it.
I was fascinated by the number of celebrations of other beliefs which also occur around this time. Very very interestying.
Anyway, thank you for writing such a super posting on why so manuy people enjoy Christmas.
