Houston also has a colony of bats living under a bridge. Its the Waugh Street bridge over Buffalo Bayou near downtown. A group of us watched them one night, then got caught in a flood trying to get home. I think the bats have been reading Stephen King novels ...

Yeah, it was cool. With all the big Houston buildings - an impressive skyline, admittedly - its nice to know the little guys could care less. They just like THAT particular small, inconsequential bridge. And they like to cruise at dusk.
