I was lucky enough to be at an undergrad history lecture at Cambridge given by Hinsely in 1995. Sadly, being a waster undergrad, I had little idea of how important he was. Does anyone know whether he's still there?

You may be aware of this by now, but Harry Hinsley died (of lung cancer, I believe) in 1998. He made a great contribution during World War Two.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
