Thanks for explaining tablature Agrajag.
When I learnt to play guitar, many moons ago, I was required to read music, which was fine with me, as I'd already started learning on a previous instrument. I never used 'tab', although I'd seen it in books. When my son started playing recently, he was bringing home all these pages of tablature which meant nothing to me! Should have guessed really, but that would have been too simple.
I feel almost tempted to give it a try now, especially given that although I can read music (to a point), I have never got the hang of the length of notes! Tab sounds perfect for me.

It's not that difficult, isn't it. But your problem with the length of notes won't be solved by this notation (because it's left out totally).
