A Conversation for Banana Toast

You can fry the banana and peanut butter combination, for an even more artery clogging meal. This involves butterring the toast on the outside and grilling it, much like you would a grilled cheese sandwich.
Elvis was famous for eating this sort of sandwich.

*What* an idea!
*plans meal for one in his head and checks the clock for home-time*
I thought I'd come up with all satisfying combinations of peanut butter, banana...oh, and marmite.

Better still is to replace the wheat bread with Brioche.
And the peanut butter with toffee sauce. Or runny honey. Or golden syrup.
I'm still talking about breakfast here... obviously not something you'll consume too regaulrly.

Honey would work well, I think. Some of the sugar in the bananas will caramelize when you fry the sandwich in any case. That's part of why fried banana and peanut butter sandwiches are so bad for you.

Toffee sauce!
WOW!
My mind is boggling at the possibilities of *sweet* toasted sandwiches! I've always been a good sandwich filling combiner, but bananas and toffee sauce *toasted*...
You can get it in jars now. Toffee sauce, I mean (no more boiling condensed milk cans).
Can't *wait* to get home!

Well with any of these options, at least you wouldn't have to worry about ingesting enough calories to get you through the day! Yum!

What about some pudding? How's this - slice a banana in half, put some chocolate in the middle - about a bar should do the trick (plain chocolate is best, milk chocolate is too sweet. Bourneville is good if you're in the UK). Wrap whole thing in foil, and give it a couple of minutes under the grill to melt the chocolate. It's also good on the barbecue.

Further thought - I suppose you could fry it. In batter?

Why not just continue with the theme and wrap the sandwich in a graham-cracker crust, then deep-fry it?

What are graham-crackers? We don't have them in England. Or am I just ignorant?

Just another name for a sweet-tasting biscuit. Kindergarteners get them lots as an afternoon snack. To make a crust, you just grind them up in a food processor and add shortening, I guess.

I mean, "crumby"...I suppose...

Hmm. Crummy or crumby... it all depends on how you look at cholesterol and tasty sandwiches, now doesn't it?
