The Festival of the sea was a one off event in 1996. Since then the event has been called The Bristol Harbour Regatta. This is on and around the Floating Harbour in the centre of Bristol featuring Air/sea rescue demos, boat trips, displays, bars, food stalls, a fairground, french market, hundreds of boats of all sizes (and some of distinction eg The Matthew (Built in Bristol), Virgin Atlantic Challenger II to name but two.) We Bristolians love our live music and so there is the obligatory concert stage featuring live local & not so local bands. And best of all.... it's all free! (Another thing we love)
p.s.
Why is Bristol Classified under Avon? Avon was abolished years ago, and anyway, Bristol was and still is a City & County in its own name be Royal Decree in the 1370's.
Awright me babbies!
