Actually, the Sham Fight takes place in Scarva on the 13th July, at one of the main annual parades of the Royal Black Institution, which is a sister organisation of the Orange Order.
The Sham Fight takes place near a large tree at which William III is reputed to have tied his horse when his army camped at the spot. The tree is apparently almost dead due to people taking sections of the bark as 'souvenirs' over the years.
As John Cleese once said, "A silly little point, but it does... seem... to matter"

That would have been one of the eleven and a half winter months we get in this part of the world??
(Summer this year apparently having begun on the May bank holiday and ended last Sunday!!)
