A Conversation for The London Beer Flood of 1814
alcohol poisoning?

I wonder, is there any reference for the claim that one victim died of alcohol poisoning? I find this to be a rather unexpected diagnosis from the medical profession of the time.
considering this:
'The Times says nothing at all about drunkenness, and its report of the inquest into the eight dead, all women and young children, indicates they all died by being crushed by falling walls or being swept away by the flood and hitting solid objects as they went. Later the newspaper confirmed only eight people died'

I think it would be wise to doubt the alcohol poisoning story.
