Santiago is also the scene for "Sharpe's Rifles" - the very first episode/book of Sharpe.
And that's all I know about it.

Congrats, DD - nice article - informative, not too long - liked it a lot. About the "end of the known world" ... in Latin it's "finis terra" ... and the cape is called Cape Finisterre . I believe there is a church there called (translated back into English) "the church at the end of the world". Maybe someone should open a restaurant?

If I win the lottery I will do I love Galicia and would love to open a restaurant at the end of the world. Anyone with an active h2g2 account would qualify for discount.
