What a shame! We have a bird called a cuckoo, it just doesn't do that 'cuckoo' sound. We associate that call with cuckoo clocks.

My grandmother had a cuckoo clock. My dad bought it for her in 1945 when he was in Germany with the 95th Infantry.

My grandmother's cuckoo clock wouldn't cuckoo. We kids asked why.

'It drove me crazy!' she said. 'So I throttled it.'

You and me both. For a long time, I WROTE history lessons for kids. Starting around 2005.

We already had problems with Bill Clinton.

Oh, and one time, my boss said to write something about what Harry Truman said about Richard Nixon - but 'keep it clean'. Now, President Truman did NOT like Nixon. Also, he cussed a LOT.

I said, 'That's going to take a lot of editing...'

I wonder where the saying "famous last words" came into assistance ?
Because there seems to be more now than in the past!!!

People used to think someone's last words should be profound, or poetic, or maybe prophetic...they'd even collect them.

They'd visit famous people when they were dying, just in case they said something 'oracular'.

I think there's less of that these days, and with good reason. It's not a good age for admiring people.

Due to a event in our USUAL weatherwe've had a couple of days of SUN so today I've been able to cut my hedge, but as alas it was "higher" of NOT being able to cut itit took a little more sweat

Good job! It's been raining here. I think it will be all weekend, which is a shame: the weather people said there might be auroras.

according to our weather folk, "we" might be able to see the Aurora-borealis "down" here about 4am ?

Since I had the "hiccup" with my prostrate gland as few year back ? I don't seem to be able to "regulate" my body temperature as good ?
Don't seem to sweat enough etc ???

That sounds rough. Sorry to hear that.

I've had the a/c unit in the bedroom on already - it cleans the air and lowers the humidity at night.

But then the temperature dropped again - and we even had to turn the heat on for a bit to take the edge off the chill! Weird weather. Right now, it's 55F.

As you know some of my health history as such
I was brought up with the saying - there's always someone worse off than you are..
I've seen that all my lifeSO I have nothing whatsoever to moan about re: my health issues etc

Life is! and it happens! = tough!!!
BUT! I just laugh at it because I'm here to laugh at it Plus as you know I take the mickey out of life anyway
