A Conversation for Driving Etiquette - Norway
Elk vs Car
Ingisim - Domestic Goddess Started conversation May 17, 2001
I was fortunate enough to live in Norway for a couple of years as a child. My grandparents owned a small farm in eastern Norway, and one Christmas, driving up from Oslo to visit them there, my family and I passed a road traffic accident.
A smallish car, possibly an escort or some such, had collided head on at high speed with a fully grown male elk. The elk was lying to one side of the road, obviously dead but outwardly unmarked. The car was completely crushed up at the front; squashed to about half its normal length. It was horrible to think of the people inside.
