A Conversation for Driving Etiquette - Canada
Driving in Whitehorse

Having recently gone through the traumatic process of taking a driving test in order to get my Canadian licence I have had to pay close attention to the differences between Canadian and British drivers. I'll leave London motorists out of this. Over here people generally are more considerate. Especially to pedestrians. They have right of way over all crosswalks, even the ones you can't see because of the snow. This means that you can wait to cross at an intersection and drivers will stop for you. This can make turning in downtown Whitehorse difficult. It's virtually all corners. Even our solitary 4 way stop intersection is an example of courteous driving.
So if you drive in Canada, take a deep breath, relax, forget where the horn is and enjoy. If in you're in the Yukon and the sun is bright, don't forget to turn your headlights. It's the law but don'y ask me why.
