Basically, a good, although short, article. However, one statement causes problems:

". . .which is not an integer, it is a rational number."

As I read it, it seems that you are implying that integers are NOT rational numbers. This statement should be clarified. A simply statement that integers are a subset of rational numbers should suffice.

Perhaps what is needed is an article defining our numbering system and all of its subsets (integers, irrational, complex, imaginary, etc.). Maybe one does exist. I'll have to check it out.
