I feel that you need to mention that all South Australian cars are fitted with a small device that delivers an electric shock to anyone foolish enough to try to use the indicators.
This explains the lack of use of this feature by drivers in Adelaide.

All German cars are now fitted with automatic indicators. They work as the driver changes lane or turns.

That's a really good idea.
In my opinion, the most ammoying time that people don't use their indicators is at a roundabout when you give way to an approaching vehicle on your right that isn't indicating only to have them turn left!

How do these automatic indicators read the mind of the driver in question?
In my experience, signally at the same time as carrying out a manouevre is no better than not signalling at all. You're supposed to do it before you turn.
