Personally, I think the best part about the Hostess fruit pies is the selection of flavors. I'm pretty anti-berry, myself, but I'm relatively sure I could live on those lemon pies. Mmmmm..... just thinking about it..... mmmmmm......
Come to think of it, there's a 7-11 down the road that sells lemon Hostess fruit pies..... see ya later!
what's YOUR favorite flavor?

Although Hostess pies are good, I'll tender my vote for TastyKake pies...They even have chocolate eclair and French apple flavors, although the cherry pie is tops...and they make the BEST fudge walnut brownies and creme-filled coffee cakes...
I'm sure few people have heard of TastyKake because they are a bakery in the Philadelphia, PA area, but they're online! (Wahoo!) http://www.tastykake.com
French Apple Pie

The bane of all true apple pies. French apple pie. Ick. I don't know how many times I bought french apple pies instead of apple pies because I didn't know what they were! Yuck... But apple pies... mmm... I'll have to go down the street to Cumberland Farms tomorrow morning and get one...

French Apple Pie
Chameleon Posted Aug 13, 2000
Greetings,
Actually, I used to LOVE the French (or Dutch) apple pies!
I don't really eat junk food any more, but every so often I do get the odd craving for a pie (the Hostess cherry or lemon ones were it for me!) or those TastyKake Butterscotch Krumpets.
I take one bite and then throw it out. Ugh! How did I ever manage to eat those? They're FAR too sweet for me.
--No offense to anyone who enjoys them. I just enjoy the memories more.
Bye for now,

My favorite flavors of Hostess fruit pies are cherry and berry. I grew up in a rural area and only got to have these on weekends when I traveled to the nearby city with my parents for our weekly grocery shopping trip. They were a special treat.
However, I live in Japan now and am sorry to report that Hostess is not available here. The closest thing is an apple pie pastry at McDonalds, but that doesn't quite cut it. So, if you have plans to visit Japan, you'd better pack a few fruit pies, unless you can do without.

Seems to me that Hostess is the same as Mr Kipling in the UK.
Would that be correct??
