A Conversation for Portishead - the Band

Both John Martyn and Faith No More have covered Glory Box. Interesting idea as the song is written from a womans point of view (or so it seems) and here are some blokes singing "Give me a reason to be a woman"
Are there any other covers of Portishead tracks out there?

Not quite a cover, but a band from Portishead called Airbus did a rock version of Sour Times which was on the UK CD single release. I was lucky enough to see them perform this with Beth at the Ashton Court Festival (in Bristol) in 1994. It was magic.

I had no idea Faith No More covered Glory Box! Could you tell me what album it was on ...or single. I am a big F.N.M fan and would like to know.

I didn't have a clue FNM covered it either till I was looking for John Martyns version on Napster yesterday! It was a live recording so I don't know from what or where.
Airbus, I'm told they're quite good by a friend who lives in Bristol.
The Ashton Court Festival, good stuff, I went there a couple of years back and saw Portishead headline. I must say it was magic, especially when I realised that there were probably more people than I had ever seen in one place before.

Yes there is.
On the Reload album, Tom Jones and The Divine Comedy covered 'All Mine'. Portishead are in the last track on the album. Can't remember what they did, but it sounded great.
Necro (author type bloke of the article).
PS, if you want to see the original version of the entry (web-links to Sour Times, Glory Box and Cowboys recordings), go to my researcher page. It's been mutilated!
