Peta Went to a Wedding!
Created | Updated Nov 16, 2004
On Saturday 24th of June I drove up to Ipswich from London; I'd been
invited to attend the wedding reception of Steve and Anne Dunkley,
better known to the h2g2 community as Pastey
and Anne.
The reception was held at Alnesbourne Priory, which is a lovely
country club building in the middle of parkland just outside Ipswich.
The room was beautifully decorated, and there in the middle of the
room were Anne and Steve, looking every bit the happy bride and groom,
surrounded by friends and family.
Anne looked really wonderful. She was wearing a slimline cream silk
dress - the style had perhaps a slight chinese influence. Over the top
of the dress, Anne wore with a long cream dress-coat, that was pleated
at the back so that it flared as she walked. Anne wore here hair up
and it was pleated at the back with delicate cream flowers inter-woven
in the hair. She looked beautiful. Take a look at these
photos.
Pastey looked very tall and handsome, very much the groom. He wore a
black and silver brocade waistcoat, which was very elegant.
At all good weddings there is a bit of drama. Unfortunately, Anne
had a bit of an accident two days earlier; Pastey trod on her toe when
he was wearing his size 12 hiking books, and had severely bruised her
foot.. Anne was therefore using crutches, and later someone gave her a
beautiful walking stick, which she used; it gave her the air of a
Russian Countess. Oh well, something old, something new, something
borrowed, something blue.
