That line about NY in San Francisco being one of two walkable cities in the US is not entirely true. Boston is probably the best city in the country as almost everything is accessible on foot and within a fairly short walk. Washington DC ain't bad as well.

Bi-secting is too strong a word, access to the North End is slightly restricted by construction, but there are still plenty of walkways to get across the mess
