Holiday

And so it was, with legs akimbo,

I leaned right back to dance the limbo.

Then later on, to sounds of drum,

I settled back and drank my rum,

And fished from it the moths and flies,

And buzzy things which I despise.

Then watched the sun, in redness, set,

Whilst waiting for my tête-à-tête.

At ten fifteen she came to me.

As one we dove into the sea.

We swam about and had a lark,

But then she got ate by a shark.

So I returned to my hotel.

The door was locked, I rang the bell.

'Twas not the bell I rang, it seems.

The hotel rang with wails and screams,

And swarmed with people, wet and messed.

It seems I'd hit the sprinkler test.

The other guests, with anger burned,

So back towards the beach I turned,

And ran away, my room would keep.

I desperately needed sleep.

Thus came to end, in such a way,

The first day of my Holiday.
