I have been reading the article on the history of the song "Danny Boy" which is very interesting. How do you research a topic like that? I am trying to research a song I believe to be of irish origin and possibly dating back to the same era. I have some but not all of the lyrics and unfortunately no title name either. Where do I start? Is there a good online site for this genre? I have tried plenty of online searches but no luck yet. Can anyone give me some pointers, tips etc?

Have you tried 'googling' a line from the lyrics? Sometimes that will bring up correct the song title, allowing you to begin your research from there
