Thanx for bringing back some happy memories. Clive James' "May Week Was in June" was a good account of how to become so addicted to Footlights that nothing else. beyond a little light drinking, got done at all.
What a lovely article!

I'd like to thank everyone for the great comments about this article (and Menza for editing it!) - complimentary feedback is always welcome!
As an ex-Footlight myself, I must admit it did take up rather a lot of time that perhaps in retrospect should have been spent studying...
Nah!
What a lovely article!
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Aug 2, 2000
since when were uni and studying supposed to go together?
(why didn't anyone warn me *panics*)
What a lovely article!

Indeed, a lovely, lovely article. However I feel it important to point out, merely for the joy of pedantry, that:
* Cellar Tapes was in 1981, not 1980
* Whoops Utopia! was a Spring Revue, not a summer show. (I seem to remember that the name was made out of bits of names of previous shows, but it's possible I'm making that up.)
Key: Complain about this post
