A Conversation for How To Be a Tour Guide

This article, which I found accurate to what I know of the profession, amusing, and of value to tour guides, tourists, and merchants in tourist areas, has not had a comment in the year it's been here. How could this be?!! While I regret that I have nothing of value to contribute, shame on my Senior Researchers that a lowly Newbie, a year after the posting, has the first comment!!! SHAME!!
My one lasting memory of a tour guide, which has lasted 27 years so far, occurred in Amsterdam. I was in a group of French, German, and American tourists from Germany. German and Dutch are similar languages. Dutch and English have similarities. The guide spoke in both languages. I spoke both languages. I understood some of what he said in both languages. I don't believe I ever understood a complete sentence in either of them.
I'm not sure what my point is, but it does have to do with tour guides.
