A Conversation for Thomas Tallis

It's technically a clerihew, 4 lines in rhyming couplets with irregular metre, with the first line being somebody's name. It's named after somebody called Clerihew, unsurprisingly, but more than that I can't really recall.
Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam in alium. It's actually crackingly good, I sung it once (bass 5).

No, there isn't a Guide entry on it. I would submit one but I can't remember any more offhand than the above, and that there's another famous one which goes
Sir Christopher Wren
Said "I am going to dine with some men.
If anyone calls
Say I am designing St Paul's."

Well, 2 clerihews and a description of what they are sounds like enough to start an entry. I see that there isn't one yet and this is a perfgect h2g2 subject. If someone starts the topic, I'm sure more clerihews will appear ("If you build it they will come...."). I volunteer one of you two!

You lucky dog! I'm a bass too, of which I was glad last Sunday when Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer was on the hymn board
