I saw a film last night (Dragon something and Tiger something, in Mandarin with English subtitles, bit like Bruce Lee, but with some women warriors) All the male characters had their hair shaved half way back about level with their ears and then very long black hair plaited down their backs. I agree the mousy ponytail doesn't do much for the thin on top, but I thought the pigtail look was very cool.

Sean Connery sported a pigtail in Medicine Man. Personally, I think it *can* look ridiculous, as can any style where a balding man has let his hair grow. It certainly didn't suit Sean and I'm a fan of his.

That's because it wasn't black and it did't start from above his ears or go down to his waist. I agree with you - it didn't fo anything for him.
