Totally agree. I spent two weeks in Sommocolonia upabove Barga in August. Certainly a place to relax. I used to take family holidays anywhere in Britain in a cottage. Since my four children graduated, married and left home I'd missed this type of holiday until this time. The hospitality of the people of Sommocolonia was tremendous. They invited us to a village meal in the piazza in frony of the church of St Frediano on 16 August. This was a civilised repast of hours of real Italian cooking conducted in enthusiastic broken Italian on our part and generally passable English on behalf of our Italian hosts. The reason for the meal? It was the feastday of San Rocco, the patron of Sommocolonnia's other church. So the celebrations were started that evening with Mass in the little church of San Rocco.
