Great Omnipotent Tigger

You've revealed the real life behind the painting, which is now no longer just a diverting mystery, but a diverting history.

Thank you.

To my taste a lot of information is missing. For instance the historical background of the guilds and the development of the art form of the 'Schuttersdoeken'. Both originated in Flanders in the beginning of the fourteenth century. With the fall of the city of Antwerp in 1585 by the Spanish troops during the Eighty Years War, the economy of Flanders declined and an up till then rather insignificant city like Amsterdam in the north benefited greatly from the flow of the mostly rich and educated refugees from the south and became a booming city. Indirectly the information is there. I think I should have made more explicit.
