Back in the early 70s had the pleasure of staying at the Ivicta pub for three months, also the mispleasure of staying at a pub for one night near the 1st w.w tank by the Chinese rest. Don,t know the name.
Very late in the day, what super people used the Invicta.? What ever became of it.?
I so remember the super Pre Christmas lunch before returning to the West country.
Not foregetting aquaintances made at the then refurbishment of International Stores. Next door to a very small Sainsbury,s I think.

Hi, I used to frequent the Invicta Hotel back in the late 70's. it was run/owned by a lovely couple called John and Mary Dunn,It was unfortunately demolished to make way for a car park for a few years and now it is part of the new Ashford shopping centre, very sad to see it go. I think the other pub you mention is the old prince of wales, still there, under the same name i think xx
