First off, great entry Elentari! A fascinating, if slightly tragic, story.
As I was reading I thought I'd heard the story before. It was in a short book on an introduction to Jean-Jaques Rousseau. He wrote a book called 'La Nouvelle Héloïse: Julie, or The New Eloise' which was also about a relationship between teacher and student. Did you study it?
