Finding life on other planets won't cause a change in the belief structure. Same as with Galileo, it'll just be said that 'they were acting on the informaiton of their time' or something. And I am sure there are many things not mentioned in the Bible that exist.

No doubt you're right. However, in Galileo's case the churches finally accepted the fact that he was right. Chances are that if life were found on other planets it would cause some interesting changes. Much more so in the scientific community than the religeous one.
If sentient life were found... Our lives would be affected to a great degree.
