It has always been the Irvine Valley as far as local government and Ordinance Survey are concerned ... and it's what I've always known it as, although Loudoun Valley does sound a wee bit better.
As for the ski slope, I worked there for seven years and it may be the cheapest in the UK but it certainly isn't the shortest, not by a long way.
Finally a combination of the two points ... the ski slope was once called the 'Irvine Valley Dry Ski Centre' (it's now the more straightforward, 'Newmilns Ski Slope') and we used to get a lot of first-time groups phoning for directions ... "OK, we're in Irvine, where now?" ... so there may be a case for a change to 'Loudoun Valley' but for now it's definitely Irvine.

Obviously just me who calls it the Loudoun Valley then.
There are moves afoot to allow updating of articles in the near future and I shall certainly be putting this forward for a bit of work. Thanks for the interest.
