Hasn't Jupiter been named "the vacuum-cleaner of the Solar System"? It's huge mass and gravitational field is more likely to draw comets and asteroids towards it than Earth is. And meteors are more likely to hit ocean or unpopulated areas on Earth (I suppose tsunamis are a problem), so isn't over-population going to be a larger problem?
Not that I'm trying to insult your article in any way, I'm just interested.
