Yes, so as you can see (and I don't mean to diss burying people in sand) no matter what precations you take, there will still be at least one uncomfortable or downright painful (as in the case of the sunburn) aspect of burying oneself in the sand, so there :-Þ

On the plus side, you can use all that unpleasantly sticky sand as a defoliant to keep your skin radiant
