No idea and I have read nearly all his books. One technique he does use is to start virtually every chapter with a persons name and hence hooking you into continuing reading as the plots in his books normally take place in a few places at once.

Yes... ever noticed how, especially in his later books, the first line of most chapters is only two words long?

With respect, The literary techniques do not worry me. What is of most concern is the story, most of which are of top quality.
