Passport photographs are notoriously awful. I swear they set the light levels in those photo booths to make it look like some people have mischieviously propped up a corpse on the stool.
Having said that, the only reason I've posted to this forum is to smugly declare that my passport photo is really, actually quite nice. I think the photo booth must have been broken.

Are you sure that you weren't broken instead of the phone booth

If you got your photo in a phone booth, that explains it...
