I guess we're seeing the law in action as humans drive many species toward extinction, leaving only those that can survive on our debris. Depressing. 
Neat article. I love crows, even though they're noisy and have some unappealing habits. I hope West Nile Virus never makes it to Europe. The disease has dramatically reduced the crow/raven/jay populations in the US - all birds are vulnerable but the corvids especially so - and may render Europe's Crow War moot.
