A Conversation for How to Make a Teriyaki Burger
A JAR of Teriyaki sauce??

Well, of course, you _could_ use a jar of "instant" Teriyaki
sauce, but those who want the real deal can make their own,
and it's easy.
I use the bucket chemistry approach to cookery, so treat the
quantities as "vague". First, throw all the following into a jug...
1/2 cup of Soy Sauce and
either
1/2 cup dry cooking sherry
or
1/4 cup Sake (Rice Wine) and
1/4 cup Mirin (Sweet cooking sake), plus
1 inch of root ginger, shredded or chopped finely
1 clove garlic, crushed or chopped finely
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
Stir, then microwave the mixture for about 40 seconds, so that the
sugar dissolves. Done. This makes enough for a marinade for
around 6 chicken quarter portions (or a bunch of burgers).
Enjoy!
