I've looked all over, but I've been unable to find a forum about Euro 2000. The only forum entries I can find seem to be written by 'I find football so incredibly boring' types.
Incidentally, why do people like that seem to bring up the subject of how boring they find football? If they hate it so much, why talk about it at all?
Sorry about that rant, but we've got one in our office - broke into a conversation about cars to say 'God, wasn't all that football on TV last night boring?' Obviously hadn't watched it. I mean, coming back from 3-0 down with 10 men. How exciting do you want it?

YES!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT!!??!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel justified in putting this in a forum about Arsenal because 1-0 is, after all a very 'Arsenal' kind of scoreline

...with Keown at the heart of it. I was 11 in 1966 and I've lived through the agony of everyone of those defeats. I LOVED it when Shearer scored. By the way have you tried this site: http://www.h2g2.com/A243677

I was 6 myself, and my only memory of that glorious day is my dad being virtually incoherent with joy and my mum saying 'England have never won the cup before'.
This time, I was on the sofa with my younger son and every single bit of England memorabilia I've purchased at Wembley down the years. I spent the last 15-20 minutes shouting at Mottie and Trevor Brookin' to stop talking about 'This will be the first time we've beaten the Germans in a competitive match in 34 years, etc' before the final whistle. I mean, all those years as a commentator and Mottie appears to have learnt NOTHING about tempting fate

At least he didn't do a Little Kev 1998 'There's only one team that's gonna win now, and that's England. I hope I'm not tempting providence there'. Far away in Japan, the Emperor looked up from his cup of tea and wondered what that shout of 'Shut up Keegan' was all about.
