A Conversation for Arsenal Football Club
Arsenal v Tottenham

I have supported Arsenal since 1970. Chelsea won the cup that year and my Dad was thrilled, but I felt sorry for my Mum who supported Arsenal, so I switched to the Gunners. You are allowed to do that when you are 8.
So I found myself in the Paxton Road Upper stand at White Hart Lane 2 seasons ago, for my first North London derby.
I have to say, the hatred around me directed towards Arsenal was utterly overwhelming... almost tangible... the basest of emotions I have ever experienced. I felt physically uncomfortable in that atmosphere.
Looking back (in retrospect ) I chalk it down to experience, although I wouldn't want to sense "hatred" like that again.
