to Dave Gregory to say that the band 'had to re-record all his guitar parts' for Wasp Star.
They didn't *have* to do anything of the sort but in typical bloody-minded Partridge mode he didn't want to pay Gregory the session fees for the parts they would have used.
To be honest, I got the feeling from reading Twomey's book that Partridge can be a complete pr*ck on occasion. His treatment of various band members, producers and session musicians over the years doesn't make for pretty reading.
His very belated (ie some 15 years later) acknowledgement that his ego stood in the way of admitting Rundgren did a superb job on Skylarking is kind of revealing as well.
