Have the sites other than thehungersite been as thoroughly checked to see if they are legitimate, as the hunger site has? I have never heard of them.

Rainforest, Breast Cancer, etc. are operated by the people who run hungersite.

They also operate an excellent online store, Gear That Gives, which trades in arts and crafts ethically acquired from and supporting local artists and artisans in the 'developing' world. I can personally attest to the quality and value of their merchandise. The proceeds from each purchase also helps to by cups of food, shelter an animal, innoculate a child, and so on... very worthwhile.
