A Conversation for St Gallen, Switzerland

I went to St Gallen years ago (at least 20 years) and I can still remember the knockout impression going into the Cathedral made on me. Only one other Church has ever done that to me: Cologne Cathedral. St Gallen is in whites and greens and very light, in the baroque style, Cologne is exactly the opposite, dark, intricate and Gothic and very Catholic.
Apart from which, the place (still!) sounds like bliss. Whenever a bloke comes up and talks to me (chance would be a fine thing!) in any language but in a DIALECT (such as Swiss), I just go weak at the knees. Even if it makes it harder to understand exactly what he's saying. So watch out Yorkshiremen when on the Continent, there are dialect fetishists about.
