Sorry to be so late joining in but that's the problem with relying on the infinite improbability drive to find articles.
BB's comments about the film being surreal and disjointed could come from the fact that someone involved in the production might have been aware of Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters' activities on a Harvester bus in America a couple or so years earlier.
For heads up - read Tom Wolf's book "The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test" and then tell me it wasn't an influence in the making of the MMT film.
