Thanks, flyingtwinkle!
I found out from folks in Peer Review that chili served over spaghetti with cheese and whatnot is pretty common in Europe. It's the Texas-style, served-in-a-bowl like stew chili that's the oddity. You learn something new all the time.
Hope you've dug out from last weekend's storm, several. This has been one messy winter...

it certainly has ! when daylight, i look over almost a mile of ice on lake erie, which is somewhat depressing, as is the black snow by the roadsides. oh well.
something like 63 days until Opening Day.
i believe i shall make the beginnings of the chili sunday noon-ish and simmer all pregame. spaghetti noodles around 4-5 PM and personal choice of cheeses (parmesian, mozzarella, colby, pepperjack) for the first half of the stupor bowl game.
(my brain says the pats, but the iggles have a good shot.....i may dare wager a cold, refreshing adult beverage on philly, and gladly take points.)
stay warm !
