This tip did get the comment, 'What is leftover wine?', rightly suggesting there the last few slurps in a wine bottle should perhaps be put to a better use, when the article was in Peer Review!

When we were weaning our kids we used to liquidise some of our food (stews and stuff (always cooked without salt, of course) and put some of that in the ice cube tray. Then when we wanted to get a quick meal for a squawking babe we could put a couple of cubes in the microwave and, Robert's your mother's brother, it was ready in a tick.

There was this article on the BBC website yesterday, about weaning kids. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7232822.stm
I did follow Annabel Karmel, and made lots of special purees for my babies. But I wish I'd just done what you did and liquidise family meals - gives them a taste for what you're eating and is much better I think, and simpler!

It was the advice of the time - give your baby what you eat yourselves... liquidized.
I did come across a health visitor recently who had seen a baby being fed liquidized big mac and fries
